Make your voice heard

Below is a model letter for the leaders of Australia's major parties.
Please feel free to add your own thoughts and experiences.

Letters to Prime Minister John Howard can be sent C/o Parliament House, Canberra, 2600, or via the internet.
Letters to Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd can be sent to the same address or via email to Kevin.Rudd.MP@aph.gov.au

Dear Mr Howard / Mr Rudd,

As an Australian who believes in fairness and equality I urge you to commit your Government to removing legal discrimination against same-sex couples as soon as possible. This commitment must include those areas of discrimination listed in the recently-released Human Rights Commission report on same-sex couple entitlements.

It must also include a clear and concrete timetable for reform. You have told the Australian people that you oppose discrimination against same-sex couples.

Now is the time for you to show us that you mean what you say.

Yours Sincerely,
